Association football competition for European clubs that takes place every year. The Europa League format and rules are very similar to that of the Champions League. It is considered to be less prestigious than Champions League due to the fact that the teams playing in this competition either did not qualify for the CL or come from countries with smaller UEFA coefficients. The competition was previously called The UEFA Cup. The team that wins the UEFA Europa League qualify for the UEFA Super Cup, which is a match between the winners of both UEFA’s top club competitions.
