Wimbledon change of frontrunners
The recent upset got Ashleigh Barty, the French Open champion and the 3.50 (5/2) favourite to win Wimbledon, out of the tournament. WIlliams is a new favourite.
Ashleigh Barty’s opponent Alison Riske, who is ranked 55 in the world, did an incredible job facing the ultimate favourite. Riske handed an “L” to Barty, drastically cutting her odds from 81.00 (80/1) to 15.00 (14/1).
Barty was not the only player who got surprisingly upset, Karolina Pliskova, the 3rd seed, and the two-time champion Petra Kvitova are also out of the tournament, giving the 8th seed Elina Svitolina and 11th seed Serena Williams the best odds in the tournament.
