Oscars 2017 - predictions and online bookmaker odds

On February 26, 2017 at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California, the most prestigious movie awards will be presented for the 89th time. Obviously, this is a great opportunity for the bookmakers, who already prepared few bets for this occasion.
After the nominees for the 89th Academy Awards were announced on January 24, 2017, the bookmakers did not wait long before they presented their odds for the actors and movies that have a chance to win an ‘Oscar’ this year. The ceremony, that will be hosted for the first time by Jimmy Kimmel, is dominated by La La Land, which received a record-tying 14 nominations.

Movie critics, fans and even bookmakers agree, that when it comes to the Best Picture award, there are three clear favourites this year - Damien Chazelle’s La La Land, Kenneth Lonergan’s Manchester by the Sea and Moonlight, directed by Barry Jenkins. Obviously, the directors of this movies are also considered to be the frontrunners for the Best Director award.

The dominance of these movies is also shown in the Best Actor and Best Actress awards nominees. Casey Affleck (Manchester by the Sea) has the best chances for winning the award for the main male performance while Emma Stone (La La La Land) seems to be just ahead of Natalie Portman (Jackie) when it comes to best female lead actress this year.

We have a lot more diversity when it comes to the Best Supporting Actor with Mahershala Ali (Moonlight), Jeff Bridges (Hell or High Water) and newcomer, Lucas Hedges (Manchester by the Sea) having the best chances for the award. From the other hand, the favoured Viola Davis (Fences) and Michelle Williams (Manchester by the Sea) among others will compete for the award for the Best Supporting Actress.

LaLaLand???? Seriously???? OMG, Im missing movies like Braveheart, Forrest Gump, Gladiator, Lord of The Rings and stuff like that. Nowadays movies is some crap, making only for money. I havent seen any good movie for a couple years now
the best movie of the year was definately Hacksaw Ridge but as we all know Gibson have the same chances to get an oscar like Liverpool to win the Premier League
Jeff Bridges deserves an OSCAR more than any other actor this year
Natalie deserves to win this year, she was much better than other actresses.
Anything but la la land will be good. Singing Gosling is crap...
